WIL MYERS
Brass Director
Wil Myers is a graduate of The University of Akron where he studied Tenor and Bass Trombone under Dr. James Albrecht and Dr. Elisabeth Shafer, and Jazz Techniques under Jack Shantz. Originally from Orrville, he has been both a member and instructor of the corps since 2016.
During his time at Akron, Wil was a member of numerous ensembles including The University of Akron Symphony Orchestra, Wind Symphony, Jazz Ensemble, Trombone Choir, Jazz Trombone Group, Marching Band, Brass Choir, and Blue and Gold Brass Band. He was also a member of the N.E.O. Sound Modern Orchestra, N.E.O. Jazz Collective, and OMEA Intercollegiate Jazz Ensemble. He is an active musician, playing with groups such as Danjo Jazz Orchestra, Akron Wind Symphony, Trinity Gospel Temple Hour of Power Band, Abby Normal and the Detroit Lean, and many others.
Wil currently teaches low brass and bass guitar lessons at Brunswick City Schools. He has also worked as an instructor at Chagrin Falls High School, Mogadore High School, Brecksville-Broadview Heights High School, Central Christian school and Ellet Community Learning Center.
