Color Guard Designer and Director
Dietra Azbell has been involved in the marching arts since beginning her performance career in 2009 at Liberty Union High School. After high school, she went on to study at Capital University, earning a bachelor's degree in business management.
While in college, Dietra was a member of the dance ensemble at Capital and began instructing the color guard at Circleville High School from 2014-2018, before moving to Reynoldsburg in 2019 and taking over the guard program there. She is currently the head guard director at Reynoldsburg as well as Hilliard Davidson High School. Dietra has seen great success with the programs she works with. She has been able to grow her programs in size as well as start competitive winterguard programs at each school. This season, the Reynoldsburg color guard achieved their highest score in school history, 96/100, also earning highest overall in the competition. Her students have gone on to continue performing with their college guards as well as a multitude of members in Onyx Winterguard. Dietra’s happiest moments are seeing her members grow into world class performers.
