Rob Ferguson currently resides in Wadsworth, Ohio and has spent the last four decades as a designer, composer, clinician, and judge in the pageantry arts across marching band, indoor drumline, and drum corps. Rob is currently the Director and Designer for Matrix Performing Arts from Akron, OH which consists of multiple WGI independent indoor drumlines. He is the owner of Ferguson Design Solutions, a company providing custom arrangements, original compositions for both marching ensemble and concert percussion, consulting, and design resources for marching bands, drum corps, and indoor percussion ensembles in all major arenas of the pageantry arts. As a music arranger, visual designer, and sound designer, Rob works with a number of marching band programs and is the Program/ Design Coordinator for Norton HS in Ohio, Freedom HS in Virginia, and the Music Coordinator for Hillgrove HS in Georgia.

Within the drum corps activity Rob has worked as a Percussion Arranger, and Caption Head in both DCI World Class as well as DCA (now DCI All-Age) with the Hawthorne Caballeros, The Sunrisers, Fusion Corps, Glassmen, and Phantom Regiment.

Rob has served as the Percussion Eduction Director for the Ohio Indoor Performance Association, and as a member of the WGI Percussion Advisory Board. Rob has designed musically and visually for indoor drumline programs across the U.S. and abroad.

Outside of his design work, Rob has served as a clinician for marching bands and indoor drumlines presenting at educational events within GIPA, OIPA, WGI, PASIC, as well as clinics in Belgium, France, Italy, and Taiwan. Rob also works as an adjudicator in both the marching band and indoor drumline activities.

Rob holds a Bachelor of Science and Master of Music in Music Performance from Kent State University where he studied with Michael Burritt and Ted Rounds. He previously served as adjunct percussion faculty and assistant marching band director at Youngstown State University. In addition to teaching and designing, Rob is currently a sales representative for Field & Floor FX and American Band. Rob is an endorser and clinician for Tama/Bergerault, Innovative Percussion, the Avedis Zildjian Co., Planet Waves, Pageantry Innovations, Presonus, and Remo Inc.

Rob is very excited to being his new role with Rogues Hollow Regiment in 2027 and look forward to the opportunity to work alongside the members, staff and other designers within the RHR organization.
