Dietra Azbell has been involved in the Marching Arts since beginning her performance career in 2009 at Liberty Union High School. After high school, she went on to study at Capital University where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management. 

While in college, Dietra was a member of the dance ensemble at Capital and began instructing the color guard at Circleville High School from 2014 to 2018 before she moved to Reynoldsburg in 2019 and took over the guard program there. 

Dietra is currently residing as the Color Guard Director at both Hilliard Davidson High School and Heath High School. She previously held the position as Head Guard director at Reynoldsburg High school where the color guard achieved their highest score in school history back in 2024 which also earned them highest overall in the competition. 

Dietra continues to see great success with the programs she works with by growing programs in size, as well as starting competitive winterguard programs at schools she has worked with. Her students have gone on to continue performing with colleges as well as competitive winterguards. Many of her students have gone on to become members of Onyx Winterguard. Dietra’s happiest moments are seeing her members grow into World Class performers. 

Dietra has lived in and around Columbus, Ohio her whole life and she spends all her free time creating and cuddling with her gorgeous dog Pam.
